Situated on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall, Porthkerris Dive Centre offers a relaxed, well-equipped base right by the sea, with on-site parking, cafe, camping and dive facilities.

Porthkerris Dive Centre sits in a stunning spot on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall, just a few steps from the beach. With on-site parking and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, it’s a great base for divers, families and visiting groups.

We run a range of diving courses on site, from entry-level through to more advanced and speciality training, including Nitrox and Divemaster qualifications.

There is a fully equipped classroom available for dive clubs and groups to use for their own training sessions, along with on-site cylinder filling facilities.

Porthkerris is well known for its incredible shore diving, with easy access from the car park straight down to the sea. It’s suitable for both newly qualified divers and experienced divers looking to explore this unique part of Cornwall. The beach is shingle, so sturdy footwear is recommended.

The cove is beautifully sheltered beneath high cliffs, with Drawna Rock sitting just offshore. It is protected from most wind directions and is often calm in the summer months. Shore dive depths reach around 18 to 20 metres, making it an exciting and varied dive site.

Camping is available across a variety of pitches for tents and caravans, including beachside and field locations with wonderful views across Falmouth Bay. Electric hook-ups are available and can be pre-booked.

On site you’ll also find a friendly beachside shop offering diving equipment, books, spares and gifts, along with equipment hire including drysuits and semi-drysuits. Hard boats operate from the beach, providing access to nearby wrecks and reefs at the Manacles, with experienced local skippers who know the area well.

Facilities on site include toilets, showers and kit rinse areas.
